One of the more special live stream jobs in our company history were the 3 concerts of the band „Corvus Corax“, which we were allowed to stream for the band on their social media channels to fans from all over the world. Medieval music with proper potential for celebration with ode to a symbolic patron – the raven – and ancient customs and rites, we could thus depict several times.
It wasn‚t just the fact that we were streaming in the open air that made it special. Also the technical implementation also resulted in a few new, small challenges for us.
Besides two concerts in summer, there was also a concert in winter. Warmed by a small campfire and sheltered from the wind under a small tent erected especially for us, even the gathering darkness was an extraordinary factor.
Our internet travelled almost 100 meters by cable from the farmhouse to our technical table in the medieval tent, where the local sound technician and we were seated next to each other. With the help of his miking, which was tuned to the musicians, we got a sound worthy of the band, which we wanted to support with the most dynamic images and editing possible.
Our iPhones were spread out over several angles of the band’s courtyard estate with fire and lights set up in the bleed of the perspectives and all 6 band members in view.
For this purpose, we had two mobile large cameras with us, handheld and with a monopod, which were responsible for close-ups of the protagonists, the instruments and capturing the special moments.
All in all, we were able to capture 3 beautiful concerts, which transmitted the mood of the band well into the digital world – in a special location, under special circumstances with special fun.
